Jay & Silent Bob Slash: True Love 'n' Shit

I figured that while I was updating the archive for movie_slash I should go ahead and update this archive, too.

So I did. Now you can find my contribution for September in the Year of Jay/Silent Bob in the archive.

Q&A with Kevin Smith... [Sep. 23rd, 2006|10:41 pm]
Jay & Silent Bob Slash: True Love 'n' Shit

A friend of mine recently went to a screening of Clerks with a Q&A with Kevin after. Before she left, I asked her to ask Kevin about what he thought about fanfiction. This was the result, as she posted it on her journal:

V = friend
KS = Kevin

The exchange pretty much went
V: I've read a lot of stories and fanfiction people write on, uh, the internet about your characters and.. how do you feel about that?
KS: Like.. Uh, you mean like stories about Jay and Silent Bob sucking eachother off? Like slash?
V: (torn between being mortified because MY DAD WAS THERE and being amazed that he actually brought up the word 'slash') Yes!
KS: People have written stuff? I've never seen any.
V: There's a lot, you can google for it.
KS: I've never actually read any, but I don't mind that. I'm flattered.
V: Awesome! And also, can I give you a hug?
KS: Sure, okay.
(At this point the audience let out an 'awww' that sounded suspiciously like one might give to a little kid asking this. Me being an almosttwenty fangirl, I was a little confused. But I didn't care. Silent Bob is big and soft and squishy.)

Archive updated (sort of) [Sep. 2nd, 2006|02:53 pm]
Jay & Silent Bob Slash: True Love 'n' Shit

The KS Slash archive (still here) has been updated/reorganized so that stories can be found by author or pairing.

And all stories are now in text format.

Once again, if you've changed your pseudonym or e-mail address, (or hell, both), LET ME KNOW. That way I can update your stories in the archive(s) to reflect it as well.

I know a few stories still need some work (changing/remvoing the squares and other strange symbols), but I'm tired of archive work for today.

Clerks II [Jul. 21st, 2006|09:30 pm]
Jay & Silent Bob Slash: True Love 'n' Shit

I really wish I could see it again. Okay, make that two more times, once more and then again with the podcast commentary track from Kevin and Scott. If anyone would happen to know where it could be found online so as to save a trip to Omaha, that would be great.

In case you couldn't tell, I loved it. OMGSOMUCHLOVEFORKEVIN.

There were two guys dressed as Jay and Bob who arrived soon after we did at the theater complex. Very cool.

Apparently there was a Jay 'n' Bob Moviewatcher promo that I missed because I went to the bathroom. elekdragon saw it and here's his summary: well, there was Jay and Silent Bob, and Bob brings over a really gay gift bag thing with frizzies on it, and Jay's happy. Jay reaches in the bag and pulls out a 12 inch Silent Bob (looked a bit like a cookie jar or a big solid action figure, or maybe a garden gnome Bob). Jay said something like "Why didn't you get me a moviewatcher gift *some explicitive*?" And then they did the whole "Join moviewatcher!" thing.

Spoilers. It ended up in list form and somewhat vague.Collapse )

The theater we saw it in was relatively full for the first showing of the day (then again, it was the only theater showing it all weekend) and the audience was VERY into it. Lots of laughter and gasps and applause at the end.

You don't need to have seen the first Clerks to see Clerks II (elekdragon never did) to enjoy it (I am so ashamed to use the same line a critic did), but I find it helps you pick up on all the little references and jokes.

I was vexed by my inability to find the Clerks II screenplay at Barnes & Noble or Borders Express after the movie. Rarr.

Clearly the Year of Jay/Bob is set before Clerks II.

But yes. So much love for the movie and Kevin!
